Welcome to the world of science and research! Researchers’ Night is organised again at the University of Jyväskylä campus on 30 September 2022, which the last Friday of the month. Researchers open their doors to the public in an all-day event where science and its contribution is celebrated together with the whole of Europe. All events are free of charge. Welcome!
This year, the University of Jyväskylä participates in the event with a multidisciplinary programme that includes activities for both children and adults and the possibility to learn new things. In the workshops for schoolchildren, you will be able to learn about molecular modelling, solve crimes at the Department of Chemistry and dive into Lake Jyväsjärvi. Pre-registration is required for schoolchildren. There has been great interest towards the programmes, but there’s still room in a few groups.
There are interesting workshops and lectures for adults on topics, such as aging, particle physics and antibiotic resistance. At the Ylistönrinne campus you can watch chemistry experiments and visit the accelerator laboratory and find out how cells can be controlled by light. At Agora you can get acquainted with AI, and at Ruusupuisto you can challenge yourself in the memory game. At Seminaarinmäki campus you’ll find a biodiversity offsetting game, and at Library Lähde you’ll have access to the treasures of the radio and television archive.
The Researchers’ Night is organised together with the City of Light event, at which the participants have the opportunity to enjoy wonderful light art and light installations in different areas of the campus.
