Welcome to the world of science and research in Jyväskylä!
The University of Jyväskylä will once again be hosting the European Researchers’ Night on 27 September together with Europe and 11 other locations in Finland. During one day and night, visitors can take part in different kinds of workshops, panel discussions and exhibitions as researchers open their doors to the public. All events are free of charge.
This year the multidisciplinary programme will offer a variety of things to learn and do for the whole family. During the day, children can visit the Accelerator Laboratory, team up to solve crimes with the means of chemistry research and play volleyball with giant cubes.
For adults there are interesting workshops and lectures about wellbeing at work, literature and workplace psychology. In Ruusupuisto you can solve PISA research questions and, guided by ecological and environmental psychologists, experience how to get energy from the nature. Adults can also participate in sport activities with children and get to know how physical activity progresses through the lifespan. Please find the programme and the schedule here.
The European Researchers’ Night takes place at the same time with the City of Light event. Therefore, visitors can enjoy multiple light installations and light-themed events when visiting the campus area. http://www.cityoflight.jyvaskyla.fi/english
